FOOD DRIVE AT THE BARDAVON
The Bardavon is partnering with Cee Cee's Free Food
Pantry and the First Congregational Church in Poughkeepsie to help feed
local families. Beginning this Saturday, the Bardavon will be accepting
non-perishable food items that will ultimately go to Cee Cee's Free Food
Pantry located at 337 Mansion Street in Poughkeepsie. Through November
24th, people are encouraged to drop off non perishable food items at the box
office lobby located at 35 Market Street in Poughkeepsie. Not only will
people be able to bring food items when they attend performances but they
can also bring donations during box office hours (11am - 5pm Monday through
Friday).
Ila Carnes, the Facilities Manager at the Bardavon was inspired to involve
her Poughkeepsie based church."It 's exciting that the Bardavon's outreach
involves more than just the arts." The First Congregational Church will also
be accepting donations at their office located at 269 Mill Street, Monday
through Friday from 9am - 5pm. Patrons attending upcoming performances --
the Hudson Valley Philharmonic (11/8), Matinees and Music (11/13),
Frankenstein (11/14), Tango Fire (11/16) and Ani DiFranco (11/19) are
encouraged to bring donations.
